Bremen, HB, Germany
Founded in 1905, Club zur Vahr has two unique golf courses that each have their own very special charm.
The Vahr with its nine holes is a green oasis in the middle of the city. The 18-hole course Garlstedter Heide is about 20 minutes by car from Bremen. It´s a classic Bernhard von Limburger designed layout that was completed in 1963 and hosted the German Open three times. The course occupies 220 acres in thickly forested, undulating countryside. It is not without reason that Garlstedter Platz is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Germany. Eight times Ryder Cupper Neil Coles once called Garlstedter Heide “The Augusta National of Europe”.
Club zur Vahr also has tennis, hockey and skeet shooting sections. A heated outdoor swimming pool (75 feet long) is open from May to October. The club restaurant Scheune offers a variety of seasonal dishes for golfers to choose from.
